GUY CHRISTENSEN ENDORSES DR. BUTCH WARE FOR GOVERNOR OF CALIFORNIA
SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA, MARCH 4, 2026—Guy Christensen, a pro-Palestine activist and political commentator who was expelled from the Ohio State University in May 2025 over his activism, has endorsed Dr. Butch Ware for Governor of California.
He made the announcement on TikTok, where he has over three million followers.
“California: Do you want your own Zohran Mamdani?” He says in the introduction of the video, drawing a parallel between Dr. Ware and the recently elected New York City mayor. Both candidates advocate for socialist programs including free and expanded public transit, free childcare, and a living wage for workers. “You need to know exactly why he will be the man to save you. I never say this about any politician.”
He explained California’s top-two open primary system to viewers, stressing the date of the primary–June 2nd, 2026–and the fact that voters do not need to be affiliated with the party of the candidate they vote for.
“The people of this country need a leader for the moment. Butch Ware can and will be that guy, if we give him the chance.” Christensen highlighted the major planks of Dr. Ware’s policy platform, including universal healthcare, free college, and ending cooperation with ICE in California.
Christensen concluded: “He is ready and rearing to take on these billionaires, the corporations, the for-profit prisons, the war machine that is robbing our people.”
Dr. Ware said of Christensen’s endorsement, “A longtime fighter for working people, Guy knows the difference between political theater and real movement building. He’s endorsing me because this campaign isn’t funded by corporations,” emphasizing the Green Party’s commitment to not accepting any corporate or superPAC donations. “It’s funded by us.”
